Figure 18. Figure expands upon the data of Figure 17. The pyrolysates and unalterd Rainbow
oils are depicted in the lower left. The range of continuous variation in these oils ends at
values of SF(C3-nC5) of 1.7 and of SF(P10+) at 1.175. A large number of paired
SF(P10+) and SF(C3-nC5) data are added, representing a random selection of oils from western
Canada. Note the major increase in range of values of SF(C3-nC5) without comensurate increase
in SF(P10+), i.e., increases in SF(C3-nC5) that are not due to increasing maturity. The extended range
of SF(C3-nC5) in these oils overlaps the range of values of SF(C3-nC5) observed in
gas-condensates. This is contributory evidence to the hypothesis that high-value SF(C3-nC5)
oils have undergone mixing, the advection of gas-condensate. Futher evidence of gas-enrichment
is presented in Section 5 and in Thompson, 2002, 2004 and 2006.
